10 Things You Have to Give Up in Order to Succeed

I'm going to share with you the 10 things I had to give up in order to achieve my millionaire dream.

  •  Present Your Material Assets

For more than ten years, I stuck to a strict rule: I would only make purchases if they were really required for my life or business. That required staying away from ostentatious gear, designer apparel, and pricey watches. My guiding idea was to work for money, put most of it into investments, and manage the rest.

Yes, there were times when my wife and I were utterly broke, despite the fact that we earned more money than most others. However, we basically invested all of our money, which is why. Although it was challenging to give up material possessions, it was a small price to pay for our future financial freedom. Which would you rather be in the end: a sheep who has no honour for the rest of their days, or a lion who has honour for all of his days?

Robert Kiyosaki once said, "Rich people buy luxuries last while poor people buy luxuries first."

If you want to accumulate wealth, you must have the self-control to renounce transient pleasures and invest a significant amount of your income.

  • Strengthen Your Circle

A waste of your brief life is spending time with people who don't inspire you to be your best self. I made the decision to cut off relationships with the really poor and the unaspirational as a result. Being around folks who whine and provide explanations just makes you feel worse.

If you hang around with unambitious people, you won't be ambitious either. If you hang around with people who wait till the economy recovers before getting affluent, you'll have the same mindset. It's time to expand your social network and engage with aspirational people.

  • Limit your use of TV and social media.
  •

I've never bought a television in my life, and I deleted my only social media account last year. Then why? It's really rather simple. Social media and television are much too entertaining for their own good. If you want to be successful, you need to be wary of distractions since anything that is too alluring and doesn't bring you money is really taking it from you.

You may watch TV for hours on end or often check your Facebook and Instagram profiles because it's fascinating. The problem with this is that real life is often unpleasant and challenging. If you want to be rich, you must be prepared to take action and be willing to make difficult decisions. So, should you close all of your social media accounts? No. Should you cut back on your TV and social media usage, though? Yes, if you want financial success.

  •  The Easy Success Principle: Sleep Less, Achieve More

We all want to sleep, let's face it. We find it impossible to resist the seduction of the warm embrace of our blankets and the feeling of dozing off. But you have to sacrifice some of your sound sleep in order to succeed in life. I'm not saying you should get up at the crack of dawn, but you should try to sleep less or get up earlier than other people. It's a clear adage that could help you succeed in everyday life. So, don't be afraid to sacrifice some sleep in order to realise your goals.

Now, I'm not suggesting that you limit your nightly sleep duration to three hours. That would be ridiculous. If you're one of those people who sleeps for nine hours every day, you may want to reconsider. Your capacity to achieve may be greatly impacted by your willingness to give up some sleep. The next time you find yourself sleeping through the morning, ask yourself, "Is this worth sacrificing my dreams for?" The choice is yours to make, my buddy.

  •  Quit Making Accusations

As I was growing up, it seemed like the government, the economy, and everyone's parents were the major causes of everyone's troubles. However, when I became 17, I decided to abandon this way of thinking. While placing blame on others may momentarily lift your spirits, it won't help you resolve your problems. If you really want to achieve, take full responsibility for your life and stop relying on other people to make things right for you.

That much is true: nobody is going to hand you success on a silver platter. If you want to achieve your goals, roll up your sleeves, get to work, and be willing to make some sacrifices. So stop pointing the finger at others and focus on what you can change. By taking charge of your life, you can discover a world of opportunity and achieve things you never thought were possible.

  •  Conquering Fear
  •

Starting my entrepreneurial journey was a pivotal moment in my life. Despite my crippling fear, I understood that if I wanted to achieve, I needed to take action. There were moments when I began to doubt my capacity for success.

But I intentionally decided to put my fear of failure aside. I made a self-promise that if I was going to continue living in poverty, I would rather die trying. I came to the decision that if I wanted to become wealthy, I had to face failure head-on and without fear. Failure is a part of life, whether or not we choose to take risks. So why not confront our fears and go towards our objectives?

Life is too short to let fear rule your behaviour. Instead, you need to confront your worries head-on and go on with assurance. You can get over your fear of failure even if the business world may be scary.

You should take comfort in the fact that even if you fail, you will still gain valuable things that will aid you in the future. So, resist letting your fears hold you back. Take that chance and follow the results. The rewards outweigh the risk even if the approach is uncertain.

  •  Avoid shortcuts and fast ways to become money

Warren Buffet once said, "You can't have a child next month by having nine women get pregnant today."

Despite being a humorous scenario, the point is nevertheless made: good things take time. Even though it's occasionally romanticised, success usually takes many hours of work and effort. If you want to be wealthy, you must be persistent and patient. It won't happen tomorrow, next week, or even in a year.

Therefore, stop looking for get-rich-quick schemes or shortcuts. Despite their often appealing appearance, they frequently lead to a tougher and longer route. Instead, focus on taking little measures to create a solid foundation for your success. As the proverb goes, "Rome wasn't built in a day." If you are dedicated and persistent, you may realise your dreams and accomplish your goals.

  • Overcome Self-Doubt

Being cool is nice, but what's cooler? accomplishing your goals But what's even cooler? being conscious that others like you have done it before. So don't let a lack of confidence stop you from achieving your goals. Don't let doubts stand in the way of your financial success, especially in trying times. Instead of wallowing in self-pity, embrace the powerful, unstoppable you that is equipped to transform the world.

Instead of letting go of your goals, it's time to let go of your self-doubt. The new you can handle the situation with ease. If you have a positive mindset, put in the effort, and are persistent, you can do everything you set your mind to.

  • Try to Make Money by Reading Rich

Even though they may have taught you arithmetic and history in school, they did not teach you how to become rich. Unfortunately, there are many financial professionals who have succeeded financially and are willing to share their secrets. For this reason, I started reading financial books when I was 17 and haven't stopped since.

Books may not seem like the most interesting things imaginable, but trust me when I say they are worthwhile. If you want to become financially independent yourself, you must seek counsel from others who have already done it. Don't discount books since they could enhance your life.

  • Free rides won't make you wealthy.

Simply said, the idea of a "easy life" is untrue. I'm sorry to burst your illusion, but life is difficult and it won't get any easier. But here's the thing: if you want to become wealthy, you have to be willing to work for it rather than hoping for a free ride. Because it is a universal truth that if you are reluctant to pay the price, you will not get rich.

So buckle up and be ready to work hard because determination and persistence are what pave the way to success. If you don't anticipate success to come to you without work, be prepared to put in some effort. If you have the right mindset and are willing to put in the required work, you can do whatever you set your mind to.
