It’s frustrating when you put in the work and the numbers don’t budge. In 2026, YouTube has shifted away from rewarding "consistency" alone and moved toward Satisfied Watch Time and Viewer Intent.

If your views have stalled, it’s usually because of one of these four "Algorithm Filters":

1. The "Swipe Away" Filter (Shorts)

If you post Shorts, check your "How many chose to view" metric in YouTube Studio.

* The Problem: If more than 40-50% of people are swiping away, YouTube stops pushing the video.
