How to Manage Travel Sickness When You Are Travelling
Travel sickness is a very common problem. Many people love traveling, but they feel uncomfortable as soon as the journey starts. Dizziness, nausea, restlessness, and headache are the main symptoms. Even a short journey of one hour can become difficult.

This problem is also called motion sickness. It happens when the brain gets confused signals from eyes and ears during movement. The good news is, it can be managed with some simple habits.
Here are 5 effective tips to manage travel sickness:
1. Prepare Before the Journey
Do not start a journey with an empty stomach or a very full stomach. Both make sickness worse. Eat something light like toast or biscuits 1-2 hours before traveling. Avoid oily and spicy food.
2. Select the Right Seat
Always try to sit where there is less movement. The front seat in a car or bus is usually better. A window seat helps a lot because fresh air keeps the mind calm.
3. Focus Outside, Not on the Screen
Looking at a mobile phone or reading a book during travel makes the brain more confused. It is better to look outside at a distant point. This helps the eyes and brain to stay in balance.
4. Keep the Body and Mind Calm
Deep breathing is very helpful. Inhale slowly and exhale slowly. Listening to soft music, chewing gum, and drinking small sips of water can reduce nausea. Strong smells should be avoided.
5. Take Short Breaks
If it is a long journey, take small breaks. Get out of the vehicle, walk for 2-3 minutes, and get some fresh air. Do not force the body to continue when feeling very sick.

Extra Tip:
Always keep a small travel kit - water bottle, tissue, mint or chewing gum, and a small towel.
Travel sickness does not mean a person cannot travel. With the right preparation, traveling can become comfortable and enjoyable.
