So here's why they should bring back Babar and Rizwan
Here in this article, I talk about Pakistan's cricket team need to shuffle the pack. At the risk of sounding like panic stations, here's my reasoning however.
Hello, good afternoon sports fans, I hope you're well and looking after yourself and are in good health. We need to have a chat about Pakistan's cricket team and to sound like a drama queen, all isn't well in the 2009 World T20 champions camp. Two of their most succesful batsman in this format, Babar Azam and Mohammed Rizwan have been left in the cold for two series now.
The media in Pakistan have been causing a frenzy about this and to a point it's justied. Current captain Salman Agha hasn't been a terrible captain, but now with this emphatic defeat to Bangladesh to contend with, any good will or honeymoon period of stability has gone. In the first T20I in Mirpur, it was the proverbial men against boys scenario.
In the second game, it was much more close. The losing margin for the men in green was just eight runs, but even that was due to Faheem Ashraf putting up a one-man ressitance. T20 is a flip-toss like of a game, (with an even probability of) some may argue, of a winner. Still, having, said that its the respect element that it's all about.
Luck can only get you through so much. Some may argue admiration of the player, makes eyes blurred judges. Sports fans, Babar Azam is an elite T20 player and so is Rizwan. Both players have the stats to prove it. The fan base of the men in green can be reactionary, but these defeats in Bangladesh have only established how you two guys are still needed in the International set-up.
Both men are their 30's and it's understandable for the Pakistani selectors to resist call for change. But is it really change? Both men have a truck load of runs in this format. They have done it on flat decks, but Pakistan's duo have shown they can battle it out when scoring is tough. Too many times, way too often Pakistan are boom or bust.
Currently Salman Agha's men are bust, they need suring up. Babar is the man to do as he has done it time and times again. Babar Azam is team that should be built around
