Find a quiet place to do your yoga practice. Set your phone on silent or put it away, if you can. Wear comfortable clothes. If you do not have a yoga mat, you can use another surface, but make sure it is not slippery. A regular home setting is fine, but make sure to set up your space so that it becomes a regular part of your routine.
A few simple beginner’s moves:
Start slow and easy. Do not attempt any complicated yoga moves. Child’s pose is a great way to relax and release tension. The cat-cow move is also simple and helps you stretch and move your spine, while also focusing on your breath. You can also try a few simple seated or standing stretches. Most importantly, do not overdo it.
Focus on your breath.
While some yoga practices require you to hold your breath, when you are new to yoga, it is best to avoid holding your breath. Sit or lie comfortably and slowly start breathing in and out. You can try breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth. The goal is to focus on your breath and slow it down.
Make your yoga practice a regular part of your daily life.

Start small. Dedicate 10 or 15 minutes per day, 3 or 4 times per week, to your yoga practice. As your body gets used to it, you can increase the time and the number of days per week. A home yoga practice is a great way to reduce stress, but only if it is a regular part of your life. You will likely need some time to get used to a new yoga routine, so start slow and easy. A few simple moves per day will do you more good than harm.
