How to overcome poverty,Islamic point of view

Overcoming financial struggle isn’t just about working hard; it’s about mixing your daily work with a spiritual plan. In Islam, poverty is a test, not a permanent punishment. The Quran and Sunnah show us exactly how to break out of it.

If you want to pull your family out of poverty and bring blessings (Barakah) into your money, here are 10 simple things you must do:

1. Put Allah First (Taqwa)

When you stress about money, you are looking at the wrong source. Focus on doing what pleases Allah. He promises to open doors of income for you from places you never expected.

2. Say Istighfar (Sorry to Allah) Every Day

Asking for forgiveness isn't just for when you sin; it actually opens the doors to wealth. The prophets taught that continuous repentance brings rain, money, and resources. Keep saying "Astaghfirullah" while you work.

3. Give Charity (Sadaqah), Even if It's a Tiny Amount

It sounds strange to give away money when you are broke, but Islamic rules are different. Charity never decreases your wealth—it multiplies it. Give a very small amount regularly. If your own relatives are poor, give to them first for a double reward.

4. Work Hard and Learn Skills (Halal Income)

Prayers without action do not work. Islam does not support sitting around or begging. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) once bought an axe and a rope for a poor man and told him to go cut and sell wood. Learn good skills and work hard with honesty.

5. Keep Good Relationships with Family (Silat al-Rahim)

If you are fighting with your parents or relatives, your blessings will dry up. The Prophet (ﷺ) said that if you want a long life and more wealth, you must keep good relationships with your family.

6. Wake Up Early

Sleeping late after dawn kills your productivity and your income. The Prophet (ﷺ) prayed for blessings in the early mornings for his nation. Use the hours right after Fajr prayer to work, study, or plan your business.

7. Stop Complaining and Say Alhamdulillah

Complaining about being poor only brings more stress. Look at what you do have—like your health and your family—and thank Allah for it. Allah promises in the Quran: "If you are grateful, I will give you more."

8. Stay Completely Away from Interest (Riba)

Do not take interest-bearing loans or get into shady money schemes to get rich quick. The Quran warns that Allah destroys interest. Keep your money 100% clean, or the blessings will disappear.

9. Be Content but Keep Growing

True wealth is a peaceful mind. Being content keeps you from becoming desperate or doing wrong things for quick money. Be happy with what you have today, but work hard for a better tomorrow.

10. Never Skip Your 5 Daily Prayers (Salah)

All wealth belongs to Allah. It makes no sense to chase money while ignoring the One who gives it. Pray your five daily prayers on time. It brings discipline to your day and success to your hard work.

A Short Prayer (Dua) for Help

Whenever you feel stressed about money or debt, repeat this simple prayer of the Prophet (ﷺ):

"O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, weakness and laziness, helper-less debts, and being overpowered by men."
